Our Story
Midnight Run began with a conviction: Waterloo deserved a space where the coffee was taken as seriously as the music. A place built from the ground up with acoustics in mind, where every detail from the espresso extraction to the stage lighting was considered with care. Not a bar pretending to host shows. Not a cafe with speakers in the corner. Something designed for both.

The moment you walk in, you feel it. Warm lighting, mid-century furniture, this incredible sense that every detail was placed with care. I have been to a lot of cafes in the region and nothing else feels like Midnight Run. It is dark academia meets your favorite living room.
I am particular about espresso. Most places in Waterloo pull decent shots, but here it is different. You can tell someone actually cares about the beans, the grind, the extraction. The macchiato is my order every time. Obsessively crafted is not an exaggeration.
A friend dragged me here specifically for the smoked salmon bagel. I thought she was being dramatic. She was not. It is genuinely one of the best things I have eaten in Waterloo. Now I am the one dragging people here for it.
